It is known for its all-American, casual clothing in high quality fabrics. He is the American designer who’s built up an impressive resume at Perry Ellis and Paco Rabanne. So it seems perfect that The Gap has hired Patrick Robinson to oversee the design for women’s and men’s clothing, accessories and underwear, starting with the pre-autumn collections in stores in July. According to Marka Hansen, President of The Gap for North America, ‘Patrick brings broad experience – from high-end fashion to mass market retail – demonstrating his versatility to interpret and create fresh, clean designs true to the Gap brand aesthetic. We believe his skills and experience with some of the most respected apparel labels in the world will be great assets to The Gap brand.’ Robinson, a graduate of the Parsons School of Design, was chosen as one of Vogue magazine’s 100 rising stars in 1996 and has been a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America since 1994.
